Programs Offered

KCAAP's services are available to all Texas residents. The programs listed below are available for those that can not afford our already low prices. Please remember that this funding comes from donors and is limited and will not always be available. If you can afford to pay for the services performed on your pet even if you fall under one the Programs listed below please do so. This allows funding to be available for those the truly need it.

These grants do not pay for surgeries on shelter, rescue, or breeder's animals. Special discounts are available for shelter and rescue groups.

Disadvantaged Residents

Requires some type of government assistance program. Examples include CHIP, WIC, Medicare, Medicaid, Unemployment, public housing, etc. Proof of such government assistance is required.

Multiple Pet Owners

Requires that the owner bring three or more animals from the same household for surgery on the same day. The owner will be responsible for the cost of the first two dog or cat surgeries, and all additional surgeries will be covered under the grant. The covered surgeries must be performed on the same day in order to qualify. If the owner needs assistance in paying for the first two surgeries, they should inquire about additional grant opportunities which are sometimes available.

Feral Cats

Requires that the cat be feral, trapped in a humane trap and then brought to the clinic. Friendly neighborhood cats, barn cats or your owned cats do not qualify. Feral cats are accepted Monday through Thursday between 7 -8 am. No appointments are taken.

Dogs Over 39.9 Pounds

Requires that the dog weigh over 39.9 lbs at the time of surgery or be a breed that will mature to over 39.9 lbs. The owner is asked to make a small co-pay toward the cost of the surgery if they are able to do so.

Pit and Pit Bull Mix Special

Kaufman County Animal Awareness Project (KCAAP) and Animal Farm Foundation are teaming up to help you fix your beloved Pit!  KCAAP is offering a $50 discount off surgeries on Pit and Pit Mixes.  All you need to do is let us know you need help, bring a photo of your Pit the day of surgery, and be one of the first 50 people to call.  So call 972-472-3500 now to schedule your appointment.  Please ask for the grant.
